Californian Rodger W. Claire earned his B.A. in English from the University
of California, Santa Barbara. He received an M.A. in English from the
University of California, Los Angeles and advanced to Candidacy in the
Ph.D. program in English Literature there with Renaissance English and 20th
Century British Literature emphasis. Rodger quit to pursue the greener fields
of journalism.
Rodger worked at Oui and Playboy magazines as an articles editor. For 11
years he was executive editor of Los Angeles magazine. He wrote and edited
the 1999 book Entertainment 101, a primer for entry into the American
entertainment industry. It continues to be a favorite on the topic, and is used
as a text book in film schools across America. Rodger has written numerous
articles and has sold two film screenplays.
